Here are some examples of the lists that are acceptable to be imported to Guestfolio. This is not meant as a definitive list; if your list doesn't match any of the examples below or you are not clear, please contact us.

| People who have agreed to receive emails from you offline, such as through completing a paper survey | Emails collected by Facebook login |
| People who opted in to receive emails from you at a co-registration site | Members of a group/organization who never asked for your emails (even if you're a member of the group) |
| People who stayed, made a spa booking or attended an event at your hotel and gave you their email address so they could receive updates from you | Recipients whose emails you collected without their permission, but you think they could really use your product or service, and you think they'd really want to hear from you |
| Press releases sent to reporters who signed up at your website | Emails that you "scraped" (either manually or automatically) from other websites |
| Lists from a local Chamber of Commerce or local club or organization | Recipients that have unsubscribed from your communications in the past. |
Again, please contact us if you are at all unsure as to the origin of your list. Sending newsletters to non-verified sources is in breach of your Guestfolio account terms and could lead to account termination.
