Release Notes - May 31, 2023
We're pleased to share enhancements we’re making to the RT4 Booking Engine and the CRS. This release is scheduled to be deployed to U.S. customers on May 31, 2023, and to our customers in Asia, the Boyd, and Venetian instances on June 7, 2023.

RT4 Booking Engine Look and Feel Enhancements
New Price Display
We've redesigned the price box by applying a larger font to the actual price for emphasis and center aligned all the content within the box for a cleaner look.
Capitalization Options
In Portal Settings, you can now select options to force all labels and/or room type names to appear in all caps in the booking engine, even if the room type name is standard case in the Admin.
New Hero Image Functionality
Images will now automatically resize to fit the entire pre-determined area regardless of screen size or device. As the size of the screen changes, the image size will adjust accordingly.
Smaller screen
Larger screen
Hide/Show View Room Details
In Portal Settings, you can now select an option to hide the View Room Details pop-up in the booking engine.
Hide/Show Bed Type
In Portal Settings, you can now select an option to hide the "available with x bed type” verbiage in the room description. This was enabled to eliminate redundancy where the bed type is mentioned within the Room Type Name.
RT4 Call Center
FreedomPay IDTech Device Integration
Agents capturing credit card details to guarantee a booking will be able to key the card details into an IDTECH device, which uses the FreedomPay Payment Gateway to tokenize the card. This token is then stored against the booking.
- This integration is purely for tokenization of the card; deposits and payments will continue to be handled from the PMS/Shift4.
- In the event that the device is not working, agents can flag the booking and it will be sent to the PMS as non-guaranteed. The hotel will have to manually gather details to guarantee the booking.
- To take advantage of this integration, hotels must use a PMS that supports sending a token instead of card details in the reservation notification (i.e., LMS, HMS or Opera).
Enhancements
- Room Attributes can now be used as filters for the Room Search in the side panel.
- Any Room Attributes entered in the CRS Admin will be reflected in the Call Center.
- New Sort toggle and View Rate/Compare Rooms toggle functionality.
- When the user selects more than one room for comparison, the View Rates/Compare Rooms toggle appears.
- When the user selects Compare Rooms, the Sort toggle disappears.
- When the user selects View Rates, the toggle changes to the Sort toggle.
- When the user selects more than one room for comparison, the View Rates/Compare Rooms toggle appears.
Fixed Reported Bugs
- The charging credit card issue when booking multi-rooms is now resolved.
- The Remaining Balance now displays correctly on the Payment Details page.
- The expired announcement now displays correctly when the announcement icon is clicked.
RT4 Loyalty Standardization
Loyalty Rates for Logged-in Loyalty Guests
Loyalty guests will now see available comp rates first, followed by the lowest discounted rate, when searching for rooms in the booking engine.
Connectivity with Loyalty API and Offer Management System
- When a guest books an offer, the offer is marked as "Redeemed" in the Offer Management System.
- When a guest modifies or cancels a booking that was booked with an offer, the offer is marked as "Unredeemed" in the Offer Management System.
Reservation Delivery Dashboard Enhancements
- Once a user clicks the “Resend” button, it will become disabled, preventing multiple resends for the same reservation. However, if the user gets an error when clicking the button, the button will remain enabled.
- In the Search box, each field will now have an “X” button allowing users to remove individual filters as desired. The “Clear All Filters” button is still available to clear all filters at once.
Beta Testing will be launched right after the release, at which point participants will begin testing the dashboard for six weeks.
New Derived Restriction (Cascade Yield Control) Options for Rate Plans
When the derived restriction option is enabled, any restrictions that are set up in the rate grid for a parent rate plan will be derived to the child rate plan and a column will be added in the rate grid to break the chain between the parent and child rate plans.
When the derived restriction option is disabled, the restrictions won’t be derived to the child rate plan from the parent rate plan.
To utilize this feature, users must enable the derived restriction through the Property Defaults as well as the Rate Plan settings.
Comp/Cash Integration Fixed Reported Bugs
- Total Price is now displayed correctly on the confirmation page.
- The Comp Identifier and Apply Tax flow has been updated.
- Multi-property portal comp offer is now displayed correctly.
