Release Notes - October 17, 2023
Be prepared to be impressed with the new updates we're introducing this week, including the ability to book multiple rooms with various rates in the RT4 Booking Engine and the addition of room type descriptions to the Call Center interface to help agents stay in the know about the hotel's groovy 💃 offerings. Keep reading for the full scoop.
This release is scheduled to be deployed to U.S. and EMEA customers on October 18, 2023, and to our customers in Asia, the Boyd and Venetian instances on October 25, 2023. Minimal downtime is expected. (phew! 😊)
New Flexibility to Book Desired Rates across Room Types in the RT4 Booking Engine
Our refreshed multi-room booking flow is more intuitive and easier for the user to navigate. It also allows users to book multiple rooms at varying rates (down with the tyranny! 👊) and apply different guest information to each room reservation. By default, a box will be checked that says, "Use the same information from Room 1." If the user unchecks that box, fields will appear where they can enter the pertinent information.
Room Type Descriptions Coming to the Call Center
We hope you're loving the convenience of having rate plan descriptions at your fingertips and that they've become essential to your productivity. Well, get ready to be blown away once again because now we're adding room type descriptions! When you click on a room type a sleek pop-out will display an image and nitty-gritty room type details such as max number of guests, space dimensions, amenities, bed types, and extra charges. You'll be able to sort your view by Rate Plan or Room Type and toggle between the two at your whim.
Call Center Agents Get on a First Name Basis with Bookers Right from the Start
We're moving the ability for you to capture the booker's name and, ideally, phone number, to the very beginning of an initial call. This saves you from having to ask for the info twice or jotting it down in your trusty notebook 📓. Rather, you'll click on Add Information under Booker in the panel on the left. In the pop-up, you'll enter the booker's information, then click Save.
The data you entered will now appear in the left side panel where you can see it throughout the call. After you book the room, the data you entered will also appear in the Booker area of the Overview section. If the booker is also the guest, you can copy and paste the content into the Guest Information fields. Btw, the booker content will be stored with the reservation but not delivered to the PMS.
Behold, Master Confirmation Codes will Save the Day!
Well, that may be overstating the case just a wee bit. But we are introducing Master Confirmation Codes to the RT4 Booking Engine, the Call Center and reports, and they will make it so much easier to track all your reservations using one common alphanumeric code. It will also make it easier for users to manage multi-room reservations by accessing all their reservations under a single code. No more fumbling around looking for each reservation's confirmation number for the whole party.
FYI, the Master Confirmation Code will only be used for looking stuff up. Modifications and cancelations will still be handled at the room level.
In both the Booking Engine and Call Center, the Master Confirmation Code is under disguise 🦸  as the Reservation Confirmation number.
In reports, however, it shows up as its true self.
