Release Notes - November 13, 2023
We're rolling out some exciting new updates tomorrow, November 14, 2023, including measures around image sizes to ensure best practices for email deliverability and the ability to capture novel guest info. Minimal downtime is expected. Read on for all the deets. ➡️
How Large is That Image?
Bigger isn't always better and that's certainly true when it comes to image sizes within emails. We want to make sure you know up front that images cannot exceed 1MB in size. So, when you begin to build an email template in the Templates module of the Studio Editor, you'll now be reminded with this banner:
Since we're serious about image size limits, we're covering all our bases. ⚾ When you reach the Scheduling tab for any new campaigns or existing campaigns that already have images associated, your template will be checked to determine if any images hosted by Cendyn are larger than 1MB.
If contraband images (or rather, images exceeding the limit 😉) are discovered, you'll be notified and prevented from scheduling the campaign until the issue is remedied.
If you find yourself in this pickle 🥒, don't panic. Just head back to the Template tab, resize your images as necessary and attempt to schedule your campaign again. 😅
Capture novel guest information
In the Profiles module, the Add Guest(s) feature allows you to upload a list of profiles to your CRM. To capture more guest or relevant CRM profile data, you'll now be able to upload more data points about your guests with five new user-defined fields. For example, if you’d like to include guests' pet names 🐶 or favorite sports teams 🏅, you'll be able to enter that data in the five custom field columns in the updated upload template.
Uploading custom profile data does not automatically expose this data on your profiles. Should you desire to have this data visible on your profiles or intend to use these data points to filter your audiences, please consult with your Account Manager to request they be made available as filters, tags, or visible on the profile page.
To upload a guest list, select the “Click here” link to download the updated template.
Fill in all applicable fields and enter any desired data in columns W-AA (labeled CustomField1, CustomField2, etc.). Follow all remaining instructions to upload the profile template.
Do not rename the columns in the upload profile template as doing so will cause the upload to fail.
Re-subscribed Guests Get a Second, or Third, Chance
Email deliverability is key to any campaign’s success. Cendyn’s devotion to ensuring marketing and transactional emails are delivered to subscribed guests is evident in our very tight integration with the email delivery service, SendGrid.
If a profile was originally unsubscribed from receiving marketing communications both on the eInsight CRM profile and/or on SendGrid’s suppression list, when that guest re-subscribes or opts back into receiving emails via the PMS profile or directly on the CRM profile, a new enhancement will ensure that email address is proactively removed from SendGrid’s suppression list. No matter how many times a guest opts in and out of receiving email communications 🤪, your email deliverability will keep up as will your accounting of total emails sent in eInsight CRM. 👍
