To open your Kayak’s campaigns, click directly on Kayak or use the drop down menu.
On this page, which is dedicated to Kayak’s campaign management, you will find 3 tabs:

Hotel Campaign Settings: to setup your campaigns

Select Columns: to choose the metrics you want to display on your dashboard

View By: To display the results depending on Device, Market, length of stay, days to arrivals, weekend stay and Date
Firstly, keep in mind that on Kayak, the highest CPC is the only determining factor to appear in the top position of the ranking, even if the price is higher. Then, having the lowest price is of utmost importance in conducting successful Metasearch campaigns on Kayak from the second to last position of ranking.
To activate your Kayak campaigns, go to the HOTEL CAMPAIGN SETTINGS.
Please note that the Hotel Campaign Settings section was updated. We are working on the new process. In order to open the campaigns please do the following: Select your Hotel → Choose KAYAK → view by "market"-> check the markets (all of them or one of your choice) → Edit Settings.
Several bidding options are available via the GLOBAL tab:
Minimum bid : Kayak has a minimum bid necessary per market in order to go live. By choosing this option, each market will have the minimum bid necessary to go live. You can find the bid amounts per market on the tab “Bidding Options by Market”
Minimum Bid + Extra Bid : This option allows you to add an extra bid on top of the minimum bid.
Auto Bid 2nd Pos : This option will update on a daily basis to ensure that the bid being applied allows for the hotel to be in 2nd position by always bidding just above the bid to be in 3rd position. The reason to go for 2nd position is we find often that the bid for 1st position is too high and will have a negative impact on the ROAS.
Minimum Bid To Be Above Threshold : This bid allows campaigns to be above the “see more” options. As most users don’t click on “see more” it is very important that your campaigns show above this button. So being above the show more ensures you have a decent visibility.
75% Bid To be Above Threshold :This bid will ensure that 75% of the time you will be bidding to be above the “see more” button.
Minimum Bid To Be At Select Button : This is the bid to be in top position above the “choose button”. Be aware that this bid can be very high and it isn’t recommended to apply this option.
75% Bid To Be At Select Button : This option allows you to be at the Select Button (top position) for at least 75% of the time.
For all these options you have the possibility to add an Upper Limit to avoid exceeding a particular cpc amount.
You can choose a bidding option for each device type: Desktop and Mobile.
By default, the auction configured in the GLOBAL tab applies to all markets.
However, you can adjust bids per market on the BIDDING OPTIONS BY MARKET tab.
This tab lists all available markets on Kayak as well as the current Return on Ad Spend and the CPC amount per bidding option applied.
The sixth column “Bid option” shows you the bidding option currently in place. The option “Use Global Settings” indicates that the bid setup in Global settings is currently applied to this market. You can either change the bid for a particular market or close the market by choosing “No Bid”.
Don't forget to save your changes by clicking on SAVE.
The third tab "BIDDING RULES BY MARKET" gives you the possibility to manage rules previously setup in the BIDDING CENTER.
Let’s now see the VIEW BY drop-down menu, which allows you to display the results of your campaigns according to different views and also adjust your initial settings:

The view by “Device Type” shows you results according to the device used by the user when clicking on your ads: Desktop and Mobile.

The view by “Market” shows you results according to the market the user is coming from when clicking on your ad. Click on the “+” to get additional details per market (with the possibility to bid in this breakdown).

The view by “Length of Stay” shows you results according to the Number of nights selected by the user before clicking on your ad.

The view by “Days to arrival” allows you to analyze how many days in advance your clients are searching for the hotel.

The view by “Weekend stay” allows you to determine if the stay selected by the user includes a weekend day.

The view by “Date” shows you the daily results of your campaigns.
You can set up bid multipliers which will recalculate your initial bid previously set to adjust the bid depending on specific results per each View by option.
For example, in View by Market, choose to add a -80% bid multiplier on Argentina and Desktop to reduce the cost of your initial auction by 80% for this market on this device.
Your Kayak campaigns are now open and your rates will be displayed within a week.
Kayak has a group of affiliate sites that are included. When activating campaigns on Kayak, they are also being activated for HotelsCombined, Swoodoo, CheckFelix, Momondo, and Mundi.
