Please follow this basic steps to configure a transactional email campaign:
- Campaigns Manager > Transactional and click on Create Transactional
- After completing all basic fields, select the Channels tab
- Select Email as the channel.
- Enter the following in the Event type tab:
Language
The transactional will only be sent to those guests who have this specific language selected as their language. If you do not select any language it will be sent in English by default.
To send transactionals in different languages, create one transactional per each language with supporting email templates in that language.
Transactional Events
The event for transactionals related to purchases should be always "Internal event".
Event Type
Each event needs to have their own transactional campaign.
Default Transactional
Setting a transactional campaign as a default for that event type ensures that all contacts that do not meet the conditions of another active transactional campaign for that event type automatically receive this campaign.
Every event type (e.g. new, change, cancel, etc.) should have a configured default campaign for each hotel, unless sending transactionals from global.
Hotel
Each hotel needs their own transactional campaign if they have different branding.
Exclude Segments
If you want to exclude part of your audience from this communications, you need first to create the specific segment or segments (i.e. OTA bookings) and then exclude it in this section.
Include Segments
If you want to segment your campaign for a specific audience, you can include that segment or segments. Remember to also have a configured default campaign.
- On the Message tab, create the message like a normal campaign and select the appropriate transactional email template
- On the Schedule tab, schedule the campaign for now (transactional campaigns are delivered as each new, changed, or canceled booking comes in from the PMS or booking engine)
- On the Review & Send, tab you can verify that the campaign name, event type and template are correct
9. To first stage the campaign to verify your transactional setup and email template design are as expected, select the Staging. Learn more about <how to stage a transactional campaign>.
