CRS and Booking Engine Updates to Comply with New California Laws
In case you missed it, we recently shared how we're updating the CRS and Booking Engine to ensure you can fully comply with the new regulations taking effect in California on July 1, 2024. These updates are being released on the dates specified above. Read about them here:
- CRS: Cancellation Window Based on Booking Date and Mandatory vs Optional Taxes
- Booking Engine: Tax Display Options, Extended Price Breakdown, Rate Details and Policies, and Check-out Page
Booking Engine: New Side-by-Side Calendar
We're introducing side-by-side monthly calendars that will enable guests to quickly compare rates and inventory for two consecutive months in a horizontal layout. This design facilitates better decision-making during the booking process. We're also upgrading how rates load to make browsing future months a breeze. Now, as guests scroll through, they won't have to wait for prices to load for each month. The booking engine will only call APIs for the month they actually want to see. Nifty, right?
Admins can head over to Portals → Portal settings to enable side-by-side calendars on any portal.
Booking Engine: Streamlined Room Upgrade Configuration
To make configuring room upgrades easier, we're introducing some cool changes. First, you’ll now find the configuration settings under Portal Settings → Additional Features. Next, we've streamlined the settings to just three:
- Enable Room Upgrade
- Upgrade by Bed Type
- Minimum Difference from Selected Room Type
These updates make it simpler and faster to set up room upgrades, enhancing your efficiency and providing your guests with more revenue generating options.
Update Global and Portal Labels with Ease
We're pleased to share enhancements we're making to our label structure, which will improve efficiency and effectiveness.
When a new portal is created, you won’t need to download and import label files. This process will be automatically triggered, updating the portal labels according to the Master File.
Additionally, any new labels added in future releases will automatically appear in all BEs, even if you use a custom file, ensuring no labels are missed.
We're also adding a new column called Username which shows the name of the user who added a specific label file, at both the Global and Portal levels.
Call Center: New Look and Feel for New Reservations Search
The Call Center is getting a makeover! As the first step of a multi-phased effort, we're creating a simpler, more streamlined look for the Call Center interface. Less frequently used features will now be hidden in clickable areas, so you can focus on the core functions of the Call Center app. Don't fret—all existing features and functionalities will still be available in the tidier and more efficient experience.
