Preference Management enables IBE Core Loyalty-connected IBE v3 clients to manage preference categories, subcategories, and relevant values. These preferences are saved within the booking engine, allowing guests to interact with and save their preferences during the booking process.
Hotel admin users can create the following preference entities:
- Preference Category
- Preference Subcategory
- Preference Values
Managing Preference Categories
Admin users can create and edit preference categories. These categories serve as group entities that will hold the preference values.
From the left-hand side menu, navigate to Content Manager > Preference Category
Adding a New Preference Category
- Click on the Add tab at the top of the page.
- Enter the category name
- Select a field type option
- Click on Add to save your entry
Editing a Preference Category
- Once the field is created, click on the Edit icon
- If applicable, select another language and add the translated category name in the second field
- Click on Update to validate
- You can change the Preference Type, add a Mapping Code and deactivate the category
- Click on Refresh after making your changes
Managing Preference Values
Each category can have its own set of associated preference values. You can add new values, edit existing ones, and manage multilingual data for these values as well.
Adding a New Preference Value
- Go to the Preference Category list and click on the Values button
- Click on the Add tab at the top of the page
- Enter the Preference Value Name and click on Add to validate your changes
Repeat the above steps as needed.
Editing a Preference Value
- Go to the the Preference Value list, click on the Edit Icon
- If applicable, select another language and add the corresponding translation
- Click on Update to validate
- You can also add a Mapping Code and deactivate the value if necessary
- Click on Refresh to confirm your changes
Managing Preference Sub Categories
Similar to preference categories and their values, you can also define nested sub categories along with their multilingual content.
From the left-hand side menu, navigate to Content Manager > Preference Sub Category
The sub category options are configured the same way as the categories. From the Preference Sub Category page, all steps are identical to those shown in this article.
Controlling Visibility on the Booking Engine
You can dictate which data from these sets should be visible to front-end guests in their Loyalty My Account.
- From your profile icon menu, navigate to My Booking Engines
- Click on the booking engine's Site Preferences icon.
- You can manage which options to show on the front end by using the toggle switch
Booking Engine Front-End
Once the relevant data is stored in the extranet system as shown in the screens above, front-end guests will be able to see and manage the Preference option on their My Account dashboard.
