Customize Your Date Format—Your Way
Since Cendyn CRM is used worldwide, we’ve made it easier to view dates in the format that makes the most sense to you. Whether it’s reservation dates or campaign start dates, you can now set your preferred date format in User Settings.
How to update your date format:
- Click the dropdown arrow under your username and select User Settings.
- In the Date Format section, choose between MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY.
- Once saved, all dates and date search fields across the platform will display in your selected format.
No more second-guessing date formats—just a seamless experience that fits your preference.
Format Dates the Way Your Guests Expect
Different regions, different date preferences—now, your personalized emails can reflect that. We’ve expanded date format options for personalization tags, so you can align your email templates with local conventions.
New date formats available:
- Long date pattern (ex: Sunday, January 1, 2025)
- Full date/time pattern (short time) (ex: Sunday, January 1, 2025 12:00 AM)
- Full date/time pattern (long time) (ex: Sunday, January 1, 2025 12:00:00 AM)
- USA month/day pattern (ex: Jan-01)
- Year month pattern (ex: 2025-Jan)
- Full name day week, month, and day of the month (ex: Sunday, January 1)
- USA date pattern with abbreviated month (ex: Jan 1, 2025)
- USA date with abbreviated month and 2-digit day (ex: Jan 01, 2025)
- UK long date pattern (ex: Sunday, 1 January 2025)
- RFC1123 pattern (ex: Sun, 01 Jan 2025)
- USA date with abbreviated mon. and 2-digit day (ex: Jan. 01, 2025)
- USA day/month/year pattern (ex: 1-Jan-25)

This gives you more flexibility to create emails that feel familiar and localized for your guests—because small details make a big difference.
Attach Files to Emails: More Ways to Share
You can now attach files to campaign and transactional emails, making it easier to share important documents like terms & conditions, brochures, or images directly with recipients.
- Supported file types: PDF, DOC, DOCX, PNG, BMP, and JPG (max 5MB)
To attach a file, just click the paperclip icon next to Attach Files when selecting an email template during Campaign Setup. A simple way to add more value to your emails.
- Email attachments may impact your email deliverability. Read Attaching Files to Emails – Best Practices for Improved Deliverability for critical information.
- Submit a request or contact your Cendyn representative to enable this feature.
Case Sensitivity? Not in Our Dictionary!
The Data Dictionary plays a key role in pulling PMS data into personalization tags for campaign emails. But with so many different PMS integrations, data can arrive in all sorts of formats—sometimes with inconsistent capitalization.
To make sure your tags always display the right information, we’ve updated the Data Dictionary to ignore case sensitivity. Now, whether a PMS sends a room type as kngn, Kngn, KngN, or KNGN, it will still match the correct "King Bed Non-Smoking" description in confirmation emails—no extra work needed.
Spotlight on the Primary Booker
It’s now easier to identify the primary contact for a booking. A new column has been added to the Contact Profile, showing whether a guest is the primary booker for that reservation.
- If a booking is marked as primary, that guest is the main profile on the reservation.
- If a booking appears but isn’t marked as primary, that guest is a secondary or additional contact linked to the booking.
This helps ensure the right guest is always front and center in reservation details.
Tracking Logins for Better Security
User login tracking is now built into Cendyn CRM for improved security and visibility. Each time a user logs in, the date and time of their login is recorded in their profile.
For admins with access to user profiles:
- Click the dropdown menu under your name and select My Team.
- Click on a user’s name to view their Activity Log, which now includes their most recent login timestamp (if applicable).
This enhancement provides better oversight and an extra layer of security for user activity.
Total Purchased: Now More Complete
The Total Purchased card on a contact profile just got an upgrade. It now includes revenue from the Extra Services card, ensuring that all guest spending is reflected in one place.
No more separate calculations—now, you can quickly see the full amount a guest has spent across your properties, from room bookings to those extra-special add-ons.
Extra services revenue, when included with room rate on your PMS bookings, is now also considered when calculating the total a guest has spent.
Campaign Report: Cleaner, Clearer, and Easier to Use
We’ve refined the Campaign Report layout to make viewing details a breeze. Now, instead of grouping data, each campaign’s full details appear in a single row.
This streamlined format makes it much easier to scan individual campaign data at a glance and improves sorting and filtering—especially when working with Excel or .CSV exports. Less hassle, more insights!
