What is AI Custom Search?

Knowland AI Custom Search helps you find what you're looking for by understanding the natural language you type and automatically creating the search query.

What types of queries can I enter?

You can enter event, account, and property details—just like manually applied filters.

How can I confirm that my search criteria match the results?

Applied filters will be displayed in the search form.

Can I refine my search results after running an AI Custom Search?

Yes. Click "Edit" to refine your search or enter a new query.

Can I save frequently used searches?

Yes. AI searches appear under Recent Searches and the My Searches widget on the dashboard. They can be saved, exported, and scheduled like standard searches.

Does Knowland provide query suggestions?

Yes. The system offers 50 rotating suggested queries, using Washington, DC, as a demo location.

What happens if I search without a date range?

Default date settings will apply:

• Previous 90 days – Default setting
• Current year + 2 years – If keywords like "annual," "quarterly," or "monthly" are used
• Previous 30 days – If "recent" is mentioned

What if I search for a specific quarter or month without a year?

The search will include all available years for that quarter or month.

Can I search for seasonal events (e.g., "summer events")?

Yes. AI Search recognizes seasonal terms and applies appropriate months based on location.

How does AI Custom Search handle industry-specific terms?

Industry terms are built into the AI model for better recognition.

What happens if I enter "international" as a location?

The search will include all countries except the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

How does AI Search handle guest room searches?

If guest room terms are included in the search, a multi-day filter will be applied automatically.

How does the system define "large events" and "small events"?

• Large events = 101+ estimated attendees
• Small events = 100 or fewer estimated attendees

What happens if I search for events "near me"?

The search will filter results based on your Knowland account's home market.

Will I be notified if a search term doesn’t match a filter?

No, but you can review and adjust applied filters in the left panel of the search result page.
