A seed list is simply a list of recipients you want to review test emails of your campaign prior to deployment or to receive a copy of your campaign at the time of deployment. You can choose to send test emails to one or more of your seed lists.
Access Your Seed Lists
Select the circle icon containing the first initial of your name in the upper right corner to view a drop-down list.
Select Admin from the drop-down list.
There are three types of Seed Lists: Global, Group and Test. Select the type you want from the All Tabs drop down list.
Global Seed Lists
Why Use Global Seed Lists?
Email addresses included in the Global Seed list receive a copy of the actual email that goes out when a campaign is deployed. By default, all Email Types have the Global Seed list activated so that all campaigns will send a copy to the Global Seed list. Trigger campaigns are the exception; they send a copy to the Global Seed list ONLY on the first send of any campaign. You can activate or deactivate the Global Seed list for each Email Type.
Add a New Email Address to a Global Seed List
Select Add.
On the Add tab of the Global Seed Editor screen, enter a new name and email address. Check the Active box and select Submit.
The new email will appear in the Global Seed list.
Edit or Delete an Email Address
Email addresses can be modified or deleted using the Edit and Delete buttons on the right of the address you wish to alter.
Group Seed Lists
Why Use Group Seed Lists?
You can create an unlimited amount of Group Seed lists to ensure that certain types of campaigns are always sent to certain people. The Group Seed lists you create appear in a drop-down list on Create Campaign > Criteria tab. When you select a Group Seed list on the criteria tab, a copy of the campaign will be sent to the members of the Group Seed list when the campaign is deployed. For trigger campaigns, a copy of the campaign is ONLY sent to the Group Seed list on the first send.
Add a New Email Address to a Group Seed List
Select Add.
To create a new list, select Create New List. Enter a list name and email addresses; select Submit.
To add a new email to an existing list select Add Email Address to Existing List. Select an existing list from the drop-down list. Enter the new email address and select Submit.
The newly added email addresses will appear in the Group Seed list.
Modify Existing Email Addresses
Email addresses can be modified or deleted using the Edit and Delete buttons to the right of the address you wish to alter.
Delete an Entire Group Seed List
Select Delete next to an email address as explained above. In the Group Seed List Editor, choose List <list name> with all associated email Address(es)?. Select Submit.
Emails may be included in more than one Group Seed List. However, if you edit an email, you have to edit it in every list in which it appears. Editing an email in one list will not automatically update it in other lists.
Test Seed Lists
Why Use Test Seed Lists?
When inserting personalization tags in your email campaign, (e.g., First Name, Last Name, Email Address or other fields), we recommend using the Test Seed list to test your campaign prior to deployment. When you choose the Test Seed list on the Create Campaign > Testing tab > Send to Test Email(s), a copy of your campaign with real data from a random customer in your criteria will be sent to your Test Seed list.
Add a New Email Address to a Seed List
Select Add.
On the Add tab of the Test Seed Editor screen, enter a new name and email address.
- Select either Internal or External for the Recipient type.
- Select Subscribe to receive Campaign Scheduled Email Notification to Scheduler if you would like the recipient to receive an alert when a campaign is scheduled to be sent.
- Select Subscribe to receive Campaign Sent Email Notification to Scheduler if you would like the recipient to receive an alert when a campaign is sent.
- Select Submit.
The new email will appear in the Test Seed list. Email addresses can be modified or deleted using the Edit and Delete buttons on the right of the address you wish to alter.
