A Campaign Journey lets you send targeted emails based on user interaction and inaction, providing a personalized experience for your users.

Sub-campaigns are used within the campaign journey builder and are triggered by user interaction and inaction with a Primary Campaign.
A Primary Campaign can be a stand-alone campaign or the kick-off campaign of a campaign journey, and uses Audiences to create targeted segments.

Step 1: Create a New Sub-campaign
- Select a property
- Select campaign type: Sub-campaign
- Select a campaign template and build your HTML email campaign
- Test the Sub-campaign
- Get approval for your Sub-campaign
- Repeat steps 1 - 6 above to create more Sub-campaigns for the Campaign Journey, if desired
Step 2: Create a New Primary Campaign
- Select a property
- Select campaign type: Primary Campaign
- Locate and select the campaign audience you built within Audiences or build your campaign audience with the Criteria Editor
- Select your campaign template and build your HTML email campaign
- Test the Primary Campaign
- Get approval for your Primary Campaign
- Select Create Campaigns Journey
- Proceed to Step 4: Build a Campaign Journey
Step 3: Create a New Journey from an Existing Primary Campaign
- Locate your existing Primary Campaign
- Select Schedule Campaign > Create Campaign Journey
- Proceed to Step 4: Build a Campaign Journey
Step 4: Build a Campaign Journey
- Name the Campaign Journey
- Select the Primary Campaign
- Select Interaction(s)
- Save and close the Journey
- Proceed to Step 5: Schedule the Primary Campaign to Activate the Journey
Step 5: Schedule the Primary Campaign to Activate the Journey
- Choose a time and date to send your approved email campaign
