Upon the General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) effective date of May 25, 2018, eInsight will use the following rules to determine a recipient's consent status as consent, non-consent, opt-in or opt-out.
Note
These rules only apply to email addresses with Valid statuses.
These rules only apply to email addresses with Valid statuses.
Email addresses that fall into either of these categories will be systematically assigned a "Non-Consent" status:
- All non-PMS email addresses who have not been opted-in or unsubscribed.
- All new email addresses coming into Cendyn databases via data adapter or uploaded list, who have not previously opted-in or unsubscribed.
When the PMS is the Data Source
Email addresses coming from a PMS will keep their existing email status due to implied consent. If a recipient is in multiple sources, one of which is the PMS, the email address will be considered "Consent=true," unless they have been unsubscribed.
Overriding the Non-Consent Status for Data Sources
If you manually check the consent box for a data source in Admin > Data Source, the email addresses they contain will keep their current email statuses. See Managing Data Source's Consent Status.
