Create and use upgrade types to organize and track your upgrade options.
Navigate to Upgrade Types
Select Upgrade Types from the main navigation bar.
Select a Hotel
If you have access to only one property, by default, your upgrade types will be displayed. If you have access to more than one property, select one from the drop-down list. Then select Search to view that property's upgrade types.
Add an Individual Upgrade Type
Select Add.
View Existing Upgrade Types
Existing upgrade types are listed on the Upgrade Types tab. Select the + icon to view an upgrade type's description.
Edit an Upgrade Type
Select the Edit icon to edit an existing upgrade type.
Upgrade Type Setup Details
A blank form will open when you add a new upgrade type, while a form with existing upgrade type details will open when you select to edit an upgrade type. Fields with asterisks are required.
Hotel Name
Choose a property from the drop-down list of the properties to which you have access.
Upgrade Type
Select either Room or Add-on.
When 2-Way PMS integration is enabled, add-on upgrade types are not available.
Code
Enter the actual code for the room type, or add-on type, as defined in your PMS.
You must create an upgrade type for every room code used for booked and upgrade room options.
Threshold
When the threshold amount is defined as equal to or greater than the available room count (inventory), the room type will not appear in the Guest Portal as an upgrade option.
Depending on your configuration, "Inventory" and "Threshold" may or may not be supported.
Name
Enter a name for the room upgrade or add-on type, which will appear as a header in the Guest Portal.
Description
Add a succinct and enticing description of the room upgrade or add-on type, which will appear in the Guest Portal. Bulleted lists are recommended. Content may not exceed 1,000 characters. Use the editor to format and style the description, add links and more.
If you have added languages in Settings, you must enter a name and description for each language. German is enabled in the screen shot above. You would expand the German section to add a name and description in German. Read more.
Per Night?
Check this box if the price of the Upgrade Type is applicable per night of stay, rather than a one time fee.
Display Image?
Check this box to display an image(s) of the Upgrade Type Guest Portal.
Use the Room Images tab to add images to Room Upgrades and Add-ons.
Enable/Disable
When Yes is selected, the upgrade type is enabled and available to be used to configure upgrade rules. When No is selected, the upgrade type is disabled and not available to be used to configure upgrade rules. Disabling an upgrade type will not delete it from your account.
Disabling an upgrade type will automatically disable all upgrade rules associated with the upgrade type.
Export Upgrade Types
Select Export to generate an Excel file of all existing upgrade types.
The downloaded file will be called roomtype.xls.
If your export file isn't generated, disable the pop-up blocker in your browser and try again.
