The Upgrade Rules tab displays all your business rules configured in the system. These rules define the upgrade options presented to your guests in the Guest Portal.
Navigate to Upgrade Rules
Select Upgrade Rules from the main navigation bar.
Upgrade Rule Fields
Fields with asterisks are required.
When adding an upgrade rule, choose a property to which the rule will apply from the drop-down list of the properties. When editing an upgrade rule, the hotel name is not editable.
This drop-down list contains upgrade room types previously configured in the Upgrade Types tab. Choose the room type that the guest must have already booked in order to qualify for the upgrade rule you are creating. In the eUpgrade Guest Portal, this room type is listed under the guest's Confirmed Reservation. Choose Select All from the top of the drop-down list to apply an upgrade option to all your booked rooms at once.
This drop-down list contains upgrade room types previously configured in the Upgrade Types tab. Choose the room type that will be displayed to the guest as an Upgrade Option in the eUpgrade Guest Portal, if the guest meets the conditions entered below for this rule.
When the Adults and Children boxes are checked and values inserted, eUpgrade compares those values to the number of adults and children in the guest's confirmed reservation. If the numbers are consistent, the upgrade option is displayed in the Guest Portal. If the numbers are not consistent, the upgrade option is not displayed.
If the number of adults and children check boxes are unchecked, eUpgrade always shows the upgrade option.
Apply Price To
- Select Arrival Date if the price fluctuates with stay dates and/or days of the week. Enter a date range in the fields below and check the boxes for the day(s) of the week that the price is applicable. If a guest's stay falls within the stay dates and days of the week selected, the upgrade option will appear in the eUpgrade Guest Portal.
- Select All Dates Priced Consistently if the price is the same regardless of stay dates and days of the week, ensuring that this upgrade option will always appear in the eUpgrade Guest Portal.
Choose a currency to display in the eUpgrade Guest Portal and enter the guest's cost for this upgrade option.
Manage Blockout Dates
Use the Calendar icon to select non-consecutive, individual dates that this upgrade option is not available. Multiple individual dates may be selected.
Enter dates in the From and To fields to create a date range that this upgrade option is not available. Select +Add Date Range to add as many date ranges as needed for this upgrade option.
Select which rate type(s) a guest's Confirmed Reservation must be associated with for this upgrade option to display in the eUpgrade Guest Portal. Choose Select All at the top of the drop-down list to easily include all your rate types in your new upgrade rule.
When Enable/Disable is set to Yes, the upgrade rule is enabled. When a Enable/Disable is set to No, the upgrade rule is disabled.
