Transient Business Table

The Day View page includes data for on the books (OTB) transient room nights, as well as projected transient room nights. This allows you to analyze projected room night demand and materialized room night demand when making pricing decisions for the day.

Choose Data View

• Metrics by Column: Data is grouped in rows by control/customer segments and room category. The total row displays a total by room category.
• Metrics by Row: Data is grouped by control/customer segment in rows and room categories in columns. The total row displays a total by control/customer segments.

Metrics by Columns

The following metrics are displayed horizontally at the control/customer segment per room category:

Uncon Forecast

• Stay Thru: The unconstrained forecast stay-throughs for the day selected on the as-of date.
• Arvl: The unconstrained forecast arrivals for the day selected on the as-of date.
• Fcst: The unconstrained forecast for the day selected on the as-of date.
• Ovrd: The user-entered value for unconstrained forecast, which overrides the system-recommended value.
• Rem: Subtract OTB from unconstrained forecast for the day to get the remaining unconstrained forecast.

Actuals/OTB

• Stay Thru: The unconstrained forecast stay-throughs for the day selected on the as-of date.
• Arvl: The unconstrained forecast arrivals for the day selected on the as-of date.
• Total: The unconstrained forecast for the day selected on the as-of date.
• STLY: Actual OTB room nights for the same day last year (364 days in the past).
• DOW Avg: OTB average for the DOW selected, effective on the as-of date.

Projected

• Proj: The constrained projected room nights for the day selected on the as-of date.
• LY Act: Last year actual room nights for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• Proj Pickup: Projected OTB for the selected day.

Pickups

• 7-day: Seven-day pickup for the day selected effective on the as-of date.
• STLY 7-day: Seven-day pickup for the STLY for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• 3-day: Three-day pickup for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• STLY 3-day: Three-day pickup for the STLY for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• 1-day: One-day pickup for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• STLY 1-day: One-day pickup for the STLY for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.

Metrics by Rows

The following metrics are displayed vertically at the control/customer segment per room category:

Transient Room Nights - Actual/OTB

• LY: Last year, actual number of rooms booked for the selected day in Day View.
• STLY: Go back 364 days to get the as-of date for STLY. The number of room nights booked for the selected day as of the STLY.
• DOW AVG OTB: DOW average of room nights OTB for the day selected on the as-of date.
• 7 Day Pick Up: The number of rooms picked up during the seven days before the as-of date. If the as-of date is the current day, then the seven-day pickup's date range starts seven days in the past and ends yesterday.
• 7 Day Pick Up STLY: Seven-day pickup of room nights as of the STLY for the target date last year (364 days back).
• 1 Day Pick Up: The number of rooms picked up during the day prior to the as-of date. If the as-of date is the current day, then the one-day pickup is for yesterday.
• 1 Day Pick UP STLY: One-day pickup of room nights as of the STLY for the target date last year (364 days back).

Transient Room Nights - Demand

• Uncon FCST: Unconstrained forecast total of stay-throughs and arrivals for the day selected effective on the as-of date.
  • Stay Throughs: Unconstrained forecast of room nights with an arrival date previous to the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
  • Arrivals: Unconstrained forecast of room nights arriving for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• Remain Uncon Fcst: Remaining unconstrained forecast for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• Projected: Constrained forecast for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• Projected Pickup: Remaining constrained forecast, for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
• Actuals/OTB: Total of stay-throughs and arrivals for room nights OTB for the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
  • Stay Throughs: Room nights for arrivals on a date previous to the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
  • Arrivals: Room nights for arrivals on the day selected, effective on the as-of date.
