Guestfolio has the ability to artificially learn about a guests likes and interests based on what they click on in marketing emails you send them. In this way you can build more detailed guest profiles, personalize the travel experience for your guests and send more targeted communications.
For an overview of "interests" in Guestfolio click here. This article will focus on how to add what we call "automated interest tracking" to your emails.
To setup interest tracking we insert a snippet of code into links in your emails and anytime a guest clicks on that link we record the click and assign the relevant interest.
For example you might send an email to your guests with an offer for a spa discount. Guestfolio can track every time a recipient clicks on the "Book Now" link and will automatically assign the interest "Spa" to that guest.

Once you have your interests set up, navigate to Newsletters > Marketing campaigns and either open an existing campaign or click on "Create new campaign" in the top right corner of the screen. 1. Click on the link you want to add the tracking to and and then click on the "Edit Link" icon.
2. This will open the link editing box, firstly add in the URL address that the link will point to e.g. www.guestfolio.com
3. Select the "Add or Remove Interest" button in the top left corner of the dialog box to reveal a drop down menu with all your available interests. Select the interest you want to add, you can select multiple interests.
4. Click on "Update" to complete the process.
You can repeat this process for any and all links in your emails. Then when you send the campaign, sit back and watch your interest data grow. Then you can start using the new interest data to send more targeted campaigns to your guests which will increase engagement and drive greater revenue!
