Update your content or move page breaks for improved PDFs.
Enter all menu items in the Web view before editing the PDF.
Update Menu Content
Excessively long menus result in long PDFs with awkward page breaks. If the estimated page breaks displayed in the PDF mode are unsatisfactory, you can edit the menu content or change the page breaks. To edit the content, exit the PDF mode by selecting the Web icon. Navigate to the menu of concern and edit it to be more concise or move menu items to a new column. Return to the PDF mode to view how your edits impacted the estimated page breaks. Repeat the process until the content fits appropriately in the PDF. If modifying the content is impossible or unsuccessful, modify the page breaks, as described below, instead.
Modify Page Breaks
Gray lines show the approximate location of a estimated page break (where one page will end and the next one begins when exported as a PDF). If a gray line is running through text or appearing in the middle of a menu item, you can move text to a new page to keep the item together. In the example below, the price for bacon might be on a different page from the word "bacon." The options for the breakfast wrap with eggs will definitely be on a separate page from the name of that item.
Editing the PDF formatting will not change the order of your menu items in the Web view.
Add New Page
In order to keep text together, scroll down and select Add New Page.
A new page with a new section will appear. Now you can move items to the new page.
- The first menu item of each column cannot be moved.
- Moving an item up or down also moves all the items that are below it. (The sort order is maintained when items are moved.)
- A menu name and description cannot be moved independently from one another.
- Choices and Add-Ons can be moved independently from the menu item name and description.
Move Items to New Page
Scroll up, if necessary, to the first item you wish to move. When you place your cursor just above items that can be moved, you'll see Move down buttons with a down arrow icon. Select the down arrow icon to move that item down.
Once an item is moved, the new view will render accordingly after two or three seconds.
If choices or add-ons are moved to a new page, the item name will automatically be repeated on the new page with (Cont.) indicating that the entry is being continued from the previous page.
Move Items Up
If you moved the wrong item to a new page or you just don't like how an item fits on the new page, hover your cursor over the item on the new page, then select Move up. The item will return to the previous page.
Save Changes to PDF
Select Publish to save changes you made to the PDF, such as modifying page breaks by adding pages or moving items up or down.
