Using the Properties module, you can view, edit, add or remove properties from the site. Additionally, you can determine the way properties appear on the front-end by categorizing them into specific groups called classifiers and by assigning attributes.
In this article:
Display the list of properties
- Select Properties module from the CMS dashboard.
The Properties page opens with the Properties tab selected.
The Properties tab displays the available properties by name and address. For each property, you have a set of action items on the right with the following options from left to right:
- Publish/Unpublish: Deactivate a property by using the slider. This removes the property from the front end, i.e. it is not longer displayed. All the property details remain in the system, and it can be quickly reactivated again.
- Favorite: The Favorite option can be used differently depending on the specifics of the project and the design. But usually it shows on the home page
- Edit: Edit the property details, see below. Either select the action item or click the property name.
- Delete property: This removes the property including all details from the system.
Caution: Only use the Delete option when you are sure that the property should be entirely removed from the site. To be on the safe side, consider using the Unpublish option instead.
Add/Edit a property
- Select Properties from the CMS dashboard.
The Properties page opens displaying the list of properties. - Select a property by clicking the property name.
OR, to add a new property: - Select the + icon next to the search field on the right.
The Edit Property page displays.
Use the Edit Property page to enter property-related information, such as name, address, phone, and other details. When adding an address, don't forget to select the Search button. This will update the location of the property on the map.
Available tab options:
- Description: Short property description is used on such pages, where all the properties are shown and some short information about them is available.
- Layout: This is an ACM Layout, the same that can be used in page manager.
- Features/Amenities: You can specify special features and amenities the property offers. this information can be used on the front-end. Depends on the design.
- Images: You can specify an image for each property which can be displayed on the front-end where all properties are shown. For instance, the booking/destinations page.
- Links: You can add special links, such as a booking link or a link to an external site.
- Attributes: Attributes are created based on the individual needs of the website, typically to render third-party functionalities. They are usually added by the developers.
- Settings: Special settings that can make your property unique. The developers often use property templates for adding special styles and colors. Brands templates combine properties into a group that shares the same brand colors, fonts, etc.
- Classifiers: A quick view of the lists where your property is participating.
- SEO/Meta: Use the SEO / Meta tab to add the meta information for the page. This can help to achieve higher ranking in search engines, which in turn can increase the traffic on your website.
- Booking: Use the Booking information to specify booking adapters, whether the property is bookable or whether this property appears in the booking widget or not. To hide it globally from the booking widget across the site, clear the checkbox Property is bookable. Additionally you can use this option for storing special booking parameters. For more information on configuring a booking engine, see how to configure a booking engine.
- Nearby Destinations – You can prefill nearby destination points by assigning them to your property here. This depends on the design.
Use classifiers to group properties
Using classifiers you can group properties based on your requirements and make them appear in a specific order in the front-end. Typical classifiers can be brand, type, location, services & amenities, etc.
- Select Properties from the CMS dashboard.
The Properties page opens displaying the list of properties. - Select the Classifier tab.
- To add a new classifier, select the Create classifier option next to the search field on the right.
The Edit Classifier page displays. - Add the name of the classifier in the Category Title field.
- Select the Properties tab and choose which properties belong to this classifier.
- You can also specify an image, logo, and booking parameters, which are then assigned to this specific group of properties.
- Additionally, you can add a link, which can lead to an external or internal page.
