Using the Special Offers module, hoteliers can make on-the-fly changes to their website by adding and updating featured specials and event tiles. The Special offers module is ideal for independent property websites and vanity websites of franchised hotels.

Display the list of special offers in the Special Offers Dashboard

1. Select Special Offers from the CMS dashboard.
   The Special Offers Dashboard opens with the Special Offers tab on top, followed by the tab option Categories, and Page Attributes.
   

Note: The offers are grouped by category. They are live on a dedicated specials page. The special page shows a summary and a thumbnail for each category as well as a link to each category page.

2. The Special Offers tab displays the available offers by name, start and end dates, and by category. Use the filter to locate your offers quickly.
   
   Filter by status (Published, Unpublished or Draft), a custom date range or built-in time span (This Month, Last Month, This Quarter or Last Quarter).
   
3. For each offer, you have a set of action items on the right with the following options from left to right:
   
• Publish/Unpublish: Deactivate an offer by using the slider. This removes the offer from the front end, i.e. it is not longer displayed. All the details remain in the system, and it can be quickly reactivated again.
• Edit: Edit the property details, see below. Either select the action item or click the property name.
• Favorite: The Favorite option can be used differently depending on the specifics of the project and the design. But usually it shows on the home page
• Delete offer: This removes the property including all details from the system.

Caution: Only use the Delete option when you are sure that the offer should be entirely removed from the site. To be on the safe side, consider using the Unpublish option instead.

Add/Edit a special offer

1. Select Special Offers from the CMS dashboard.
   The page opens displaying the list of available offers.
2. Select a special offer by clicking into the name.
   OR, to add a new property:
3. Select the Create Special option next to the search field on the right.
   The Edit Special Offer/Create Special Offer page displays.
   
   Use the fields in the upper half to determine the name, location and availability of the special offer. The lower half shows the Specials menu with available tab options, from the Copy content shown on top to the Draft tab on the very right. to
4. Fill in or edit the required fields.
5. Select Save when you are done.
6. In the next step, select the special offer again and fill in the required tab options in the Specials menu.
   You can work your way through the editing process by clicking one tab option after the other, including Price, SEO, Images, etc., and then select Save again.
   

Available fields:

• Title: Name of the special offer. This is the title as it will display on your website.
• Subtitle: Sub-header of the special offer. This is the subtitle as it will display on your website.
• URL name: The name of the website URL for the special.
• Page Location: Shows the website URL where the special will display.
• Start Date: Shows the start date on which the special will display on the Specials page.
• End date: Shows the date on which the special will expire and disappear from the Specials page.
• Checkbox No end date: Select this checkbox, if the special should not expire and remain on the Specials page indefinitely.
• Summary copy: Summary description that will appear on the main Specials page.
• Main copy window: Full description of the special that will appear on the dedicated page of the special.

Special offers are grouped by categories and equipped with page attributes.

Categories

Special offers are grouped by categories. Each category page shows a summary and ideally a thumbnail of each assigned special or package with a link to the corresponding special page.

The special offers are usually grouped into the Special Offers category. You can create other categories, as required. You can also have a hierarchy of categories.

You can use the Category tier to feature individual packages if the property does not have many specials/packages. You can also use categories to feature specials for different properties.

1. Select the Create Category button in the top-right corner.
   The New Category page displays.
2. Fill in the required fields.
3. In the next step, fill in the required tab options for the category.
   You can work your way through the editing process by selecting one tab option after the other, including Attributes, and Images.
4. Select Save when you are done.
   The new category is displayed in the list of categories.

Note: When you save the category, the category is automatically published. The category page will only appear on the website though if you have assigned special offers to it, or if you have marked it as Always visible in the Attributes tab option, see below.

Available fields:

• Parent Category: Select a parent category from the drop-down if you work with category hierarchies.
• Category title: Name of the category.
• URL name: The name of the website URL for the category. 
• Content Title: The title or header of the category Header that will appear on the website.
• Content subtitle: The subtitle or subheader that will appear on the website.

Define attributes for a category

Select the Attributes tab in the Categories dialog to further specify how the category will be displayed in the website.

Available options:

• In Front Page: Enable/disable the option to show the category in the main Specials page.
• Always visible: Enable/disable the option to show the category in the Specials page even if not specials have been assigned to the category.

Select an image/a thumbnail for a category

Select the Images tab in the Categories dialog to determine the imagery used for the category. Specify the thumbnail that will be displayed along with the category on the main Specials page. Additionally, select the Top Image that will be displayed in the specials page for the selected category.

The Special menu is located in the second half of the Special Offer page and is available when you create or edit special offers.

Copy option - add/edit content of the special

The Copy page is displayed on top of the other options and holds the content of the special offer. Use this option and the editor to add and edit text, as required. 

• Summary copy: Summary description that will appear on the main Specials page.
• Main copy window: Full description of the special that will appear on the dedicated page of the special.

Fill in the Price tab

Use the Price tab to specify rate information for the special.

Available fields:

• Price: The Price information becomes available if it is activated here by selecting the Enabled option.
• Price Copy: Use the Price Copy field to specify a price per person or per night, if applicable.
• Currency: Enter the Currency used for the special and whether to display the currency sign in front (Prepend) or behind the price (Append).

Insert Images

Use the Images option to determine the images used on the Specials page. Specify the Thumbnail that will be displayed on the main Specials page. Additionally, select the Top Image that will be displayed in the specials page.

Add the required Links

Use the Links tab to specify the links used for booking the special.

Available fields:

• Booking link: Direct link to the booking engine of the property.
• Mobile booking link: Link to the mobile-only booking engine of the property.
• Link title: Title/Name of the booking button link, for instance: Book Now.

Assign a specific Category

Use this option to assign one or more specific categories to the special offer. By default, all special offers are initially assigned to the Special offer category. If you have added other categories, you can select one or more of them for your special offer.

Determine specific Settings

Use the Settings to determine specific settings for the special offer, by activating or deactivating the respective slider option.

In Front page: Shows Special on main Specials page with or without a category.
Starred: Shows Special as a preferred of as one of the first special offers in the list of Specials on the main Specials page.
Private: Hide the special offer from the regular special pages and make it accessible only by direct URL link.
Loyalty Offer: Show the special offer in the Loyalty portal.
Share on mobile: deprecated functionality
Mobile only: Display the special offer exclusively on mobile devices.
Target Audience: Select the target audience configured in the Content Personalization Engine module from the drop-down.

Import (duplicate) special offers 

Use the Import Offers button to copy special offers from one property to another and/or from one language to another within the same property.

1. Select Special Offers from the CMS dashboard. Select Import Offers.

2. In the first drop-down, select the property from which you wish to copy an offer. In the next drop-down, select the language you want used for the copied offer.

3. The available offers from the property and in the language you selected will be listed. Check all the offers you wish to copy from the property shown in the drop-down to the property you're logged into. Select Import Offers.
