These are just some of the favorites amongst marketing team members.

Market Report
- Report: Market > Market Report
The Market report provides market segmentation data versus a select comparison period. The user can drilldown to the rate code level for further analysis. This report is for single hotel or portfolio use. This report is a date-to-date comparison rather than a day-to-day comparison.
Practical uses
- Includes Market Segment Performance and the rate codes that drive that market segment’s total. It is not only great to review past month’s performance, but also look at how last year performed to identify opportunities and successes to repeat or not repeat.
- Using the Channel filter, know the market segment mix by channel and rates that drove that performance. Identify if a particular channel strategy drove the segment/rate production.
- Compare YOY or review the future and compare OTB vs LY Actuals.
- Identify what market segments/rate codes booked during a certain period. For example, what booked in Jan & Feb for a particular holiday week?
- Review the market segments/rate codes that occupied a specific room class/room type/business unit.
- If you are targeting a particular region or country, look at the market segments/rate codes from guests that booked from that country.
Pace Report
- Report: Booking Trends > Pace Report
This 2-page report shows the year over year production and variance vs Comparison Year (DOW to DOW). It highlights pace by market segment, channel and room product on the first page. The second page provides a chart representing year over year production and day by day comparison. As this is a pace report, the user must also enter an As Of Date in the report filter selection. Use this report for dates in the future, which can include historical days.
Practical uses
- Review pace by Market Segment, Channel and Room Type for a period in time, which can be a particular day, week, special event dates, month, year, etc.
- Slice the data using the Channel filter to see the pace for that channel broken down by segment and room type. Room Type statistics reflect the room types occupied by guests, which can include room moves, upgrades and upsells.
- Identify pace by day and areas of opportunity that may be negatively impacting a set of dates.
- If a particular segment is up or down, use the Market filter, to see what channel(s) and room class(es) are driving the deficit or increase in the Market Segment.
- You can change the As of Date to see how pace has improved or declined since X date.
Rate Code Pace Report
This report provides pace by both Market Segment and Rate Codes versus the comparison period, based on the date the user enters in the As of Date field. The first view of the report will have all production collapsed into Major Market Segments. The user can expand each segment to see the rate codes within that segment and the production for each rate code. Report displays room nights, ADR and room revenue for current and prior year period with YOY variances. This report uses a DOW to DOW comparison.
Practical uses
- This report is similar to the Pace Report, but it allows the user to see which rate codes are behind the market segment performance. The Comparison Year filter allows you to compare OTB versus different comparison years.
- Use the Channel filter to better understand the rate codes ahead or behind pace for a particular channel.
- Use the Market filter to only select a particular macro/micro segment. For example, digital marketing dollars influence transient for brand website, so select Transient in the Market filter and Brand Website for the Channel filter.
Rooms Lead Time
- Report: Booking Trends > Rooms Lead Time
This report provides the user with an overview and more granular look at the booking lead time for the hotel. There are five charts covered in this view. The top chart shows booking lead time in aggregate for the time frame selected. The bottom four charts show booking lead time by Day of Week, Major Market, Major Channel and Room Product. While this report can be viewed for forward looking dates, it is best viewed for historical dates. Lead time can be skewed for future dates.
Practical uses
- Run the report for dates in the past, seasonally or for a particular target date range.
- In the top graph, review the booking windows that have the largest % of bookings.
- Vary the report filters to see the chart at the top of the report change (i.e., specific market segments and/or channels).
- If you have a market segment that tends to inflate Lead Time, and you are focused on strategies and tactics outside that segment, consider removing that segment in the report filters. (i.e., Wholesale segment for your hotel has a 7X larger lead time than the rest of Transient Segments.)
- If there is a strategy to increase Lead Time or increase the % of bookings outside the traditional booking window, you can use the report to see how this changed YOY (then run LY to compare).
Length of Stay Report
- Report: Booking Trends > Length of Stay Report
The report offers three charts which show the average length of stay vs a comparison year, by day of week and by month (if multiple months are selected each month will display). Additionally, two tables show the average length of stay, ADR and revenue by month (if multiple months are selected) and day of week. This report is for single hotel or portfolio use. The LOS Analysis screen can be generated for a past, present or future date range. To display the screen, first select a start date by clicking Select Start Date. As a convenience, the End Date will automatically populate to reflect the last day of the month of the start date. Make any necessary changes to the end date by clicking on that button. Then click View Analysis.
Practical uses
- Leverage the report filters to review LOS performance for select market segments or channels. This is useful if you are considering deploying promotions and/or packages based on LOS.
- Remove Market Segments that could inflate Length of Stay (i.e., Wholesale).
- If you have a range of promotions/packages that were deployed to drive LOS, you can use the Rate Code filter to review performance for those specific codes.
Channel Report
- Report: Channel > Channel Report
The Channel Report displays channel production by a defined date range and allows the user to compare different comparison years. The user can drill down into the major channels to display the minor channels (i.e., from GDS the user could drill down to show production from Amadeus, Apollo/Galileo, Sabre & Worldspan - depending on hotel setup). This report is a date-to-date comparison rather than a day-to-day comparison.
Practical uses
- Displays Macro/Micro Channel Code, Room Night Mix, ADR and Revenue vs comparison year and provides variances.
- You can slice and analyze only Transient to see Transient Channel Mix. This is useful to see which channel’s drive particular segments (i.e., What is the channel that drives the highest % of BAR room nights?)
- If you are targeting marketing efforts for a particular region/country, you can see the channel distribution for the selected region/country.
- If you deployed a particular promotion and the target was brand.com, but you opened the promotion across multiple channels, you can use the Rate Code filter to select the promo rate code.
- If you run the report for the future, identify if there are Undefined/Unknown codes and fix those reservations.
Channel Pace Analysis
This report provides pace at the channel level versus a Comparison Year, based on the date entered in the As of Date field. Initially, the production is collapsed into major channel segments. You can drill down to see the channels at the minor segment level. Room nights, ADR and room revenue are shown for the current year and the prior year. The variance between the two is also represented.
Practical uses
- Utilize this report if you have deployed strategies or tactics against a particular distribution channel. Evaluate the impact on pace performance. Consider not only looking at the current performance against previous years, but against 2 years ago or even 3 years ago, if relevant.
- Vary the report filters. If you deployed a particular promotion, slice the report using the Rate Code filter and analyze what channels are performing better than others. Is your marketing plan for the promotion multi-channel?
- If the team has noticed a market segment in the future underperforming, use the Market Segment filter to identify which channels are impacting performance.
- As you look and plan ahead, this is a great report to see how your Brand.com strategies are moving the needle versus prior years. Perhaps you have shifted more funds to your Brand.com marketing initiatives? Is the channel stronger than last year?
Source Market Analysis
- Report: Geo Source > Source Market Analysis
Provides geographical Continent, Sub-Continent and Country production for room nights, ADR and revenue versus a comparison year. The source data is based on the reservation address. It is good to note that this may be the address of the Travel Agency that booked the reservation unless it was updated at the property during check-in or the guest's stay. This report is for single hotel or portfolio use. While this information would typically be viewed for historical periods, it may also be generated for a future date range (it then displays on-the-books information rather than actualized production). This report is a date-to-date comparison rather than a day-to-day comparison.
Practical uses
- Allows you to see your production by Guest Country (tied to a reservation).
- If unknowns appear on the report, they indicate production tied to a guest profile with no country. Note that your default code could skew data if Guest Profiles are not completed in full.
- You can sort through the data by applying filters such as market segment, channel or rate code.
- Identify your Guest’s Country for all Internet OTA channel bookings by using the Channel filter.
- Use the Booking Date combined with Stay dates to see what countries drove bookings for a particular period. For example, which guest countries drove bookings in Jan & Feb for the summer months? Combine with the Transient Market filter to remove all Group bookings.
Revintel is a tool that can be leveraged across the hotel by different departments and roles.
